虽然表面硬度不及其他的塑胶原料，但是PP在其他性能上还是有一定的优势，比如：PP的耐高温性在五大通用塑胶原料中是最好的，PP材料制品可以在100℃的环境中持续工作，而且性能稳定，就算是被加热到了150℃也不会出现变形的情况。在PP进行加工时添加适量的成核剂，它的耐热性能还可以进一步提高，甚至可以应用于微波炉的应用。

PP材料的密度是所以塑胶原料中最小的、低于水，所有有较好的气体阻隔性，但是氧气、二氧化碳和水蒸气对PP还是有一定的穿透性，但是通过添加阻隔性材料、或者在PP制品的表皮涂覆阻隔性涂料就可以增强其气密性。

居家用品|：剪草机、喷水器、水桶、塑胶碗、勺子、盆等容器应用。

工业应用：可用于化学\化工储罐制作、电镀材料、实验设备。

医学应用：药品容器。

聚丙烯的特点和缺点

特点：具有良好的化学性能，防酸、碱溶剂性能较强，防有机溶剂性能较强，密度低。

缺点：最高操作温度低，容易在老化的过程中发生氧化。

聚丙烯具有密度小、无毒、无异味的特点，刚度、强度和耐热性都高于PE材料，

成型特性:

PP具有结晶的特性，吸水性极低、长期于如金属发生接触容易分解、容易发生熔体破裂的情况。

PP具有良好的流动性，但是其在加工过程中收缩率过大，容易发生凹痕、变形、缩孔、缺胶等现象。

PP熔体冷却速度很快，浇注和冷却时应该进行缓慢散热，并且注意控制成型温度。

PP加工时塑料厚壁须均匀，避免尖角、应力集中、缺角等现象。
