聚碳酸酯 (Polycarbonates，PC)

聚碳酸酯（PC）是分子主链中含有碳酸酯结构的工程塑料，于1957年工业化，是一种无定型、无臭、无毒、高度透明的无色或微黄色热塑性工程塑料，具有优良的物理机械性能，尤其是耐冲击性优异。PC分子主链上的苯撑基是大共轭的芳香环，是分子主链上不能弯曲的刚性部分，阻碍分子的内旋转。醚基可增大链的 柔曲性；极性较大的羰基增加了分子间力，使分子链刚性有所加强，而电性能下降。酯基也是极性基，只能加大分子链的刚性，而且是PC极易溶于极性有机溶剂的一个重要原因。几个基团的综合作用，使PC分子链的刚性很大，致使Tg很较高，Tm、粘度也较高。

PC的生产方法：

商业上最重要的聚碳酸酯是以双酚A为原料，与光气反应或与碳酸二苯酯交换反应制成。

(1) 酯交换法

此法以双酚A和碳酸二苯酯为原料，分两步进行熔融缩聚，原理与涤纶生产相似。采用单体非等当量比，碳酸二苯酯过量进行端基封锁，排出苯酚以达到所需分子量。
